Fancy Martial Arts Techniques
I would like to have a discussion on the real world application of 'fancy' Karate Kid type shit... In this vid I just tried out some Tae Kwon Do shit for fun, I think it could be effective if your opponent was extremely gassed out and in 'can't be fucked with this shit anymore' mode - otherwise I don't reckon there is any use for this kick.
Some other fancy things I like are 1) Spinning back kick 2) Superman jab
I think the superman jab is superb if executed fast and hard enough cos of the range... Lift left leg up pretending to check or while checking, hop forward with right leg whilst kicking left leg behind (opposite from Superman punch but with the same stance)... I never seen anyone do this in MT.
there is a whole point where his back is exposed and not looking at all where he is going. everything is exposed, legs, back , , a low kickers buffet that is.
All the opponent has to do is move to around the 1-2 o clock position and boom clock the guy with a left hook.
also the direction of the power for the kick is such that it doesnt allow rotation of the supporting foot
What's that ?
I'm a firm believer that a move is only fancy to someone who doesn't know how to implement the technique properly.
Some techniques may leave you open to an attack but may also be used to bait someone, quickly close the distance, or generate more power, it's just a matter of weighing out the risk and enough training of that technique.
Then there are moves that just go against our body mechanics.
I once picked a feint up from some tkd video on youtube. You lift your leg as if you're going to do a lowkick, move the leg forward, and then put the foot down again (halfway towards your opponent). If he falls for it (lifts his leg to block), you pull your leg back, and then kick. By the time your kick lands his foot should be in the middle of planting his foot.
I cant seem to find the video, but it was similar to this.
fancy kick to win the fight
here you see Taekwondo used in k1 against Masato and Masato had difficult at moments due to the fancy shit..
does a bruce lee style stepping sidekick count?
