Has Anyone Trained At Sitboonmee?

Return to the MuayThaiLand home page

If yes what was your experience?

I think there was a thread on here a while ago.
I imagine it wouldn't be the same since kongsak left.

is pele the head trainer still there?

Thought you nearly went nuts in Takotapi Joshua?

Sitboonmee looks just as much smack bang in the middle of nowhere, if not worse as it isn't 10km away from a decent township like Kiatmoo9 was to Prakhon Chai.

One fighter doesn't make a gym, so I wouldn't write them off. I'd need assurance of larger sized fighters for me to clinch with though before I could consider visiting such a gym. I do love the Buriram province though (landscapes and people) so would happily explore other options there.

@Blake. Kongsak still trains there. From his facebook it looks like hes never at Saenchai's gym. Most of the latest pics of him are at Sitboonmee. I only saw a few pics of him at saenchais gym when they just opened and it was pics of their champs with their belts. No sign of him actually training their from what I see. Also I'm not going there for Kongsak. I was going their for Kongsak trainer Pele. The person who made Kongsak who he is. Much more important. Also the trainer of Samkor!

@TomS. I am planning to go to Thailand for several months and will only stay at Sitboonmee for the first month. Somewhere away from tourist filled camps just to lose some pounds and clean out the rust then back to Bangkok where I can show off on the pads to sexy sweaty foreign girls :). At this stage of my Thailand adventures I kinda know what I am doing. I just wanted to know what peoples experiences were and if Pele was still there.

Me. I trained there before , as for whether Pele is still there, I need go check. But I am pretty sure he is still there

@jiemisii. What was the training and accommodation like? interested or non interested trainers. Fast/slow internet. Welcoming people and etc.

shoulda checked out that one on korat I mentioned too bro.

i think that would have been a good bet

@Blake. Which one?

stayed in the owners house.

internet speed was ok.

food was delicious

1/2 trainers, many fighters. so sometimes, fighter hold pads for u, sometimes, no padwork.

Geez no pad guarantee is a pretty rough deal. Can understand if they're short on pad holders so their Thai fighters are priority 1, just that if you're paying for a service that's essentially the core part of the service you're paying for (pads).

They shouldn't be accepting foreigners if they don't have the capacity to pad them, or at least make that explicit up front.

tanasuranakorn in khorat.

was in the running for gym of the year a few years back and lekkla was a lumphini champ I think, might of even had fighter of the year bestowed to him.

I imagine it would be a decent gym and you are used to issan style and roughing it.

@Tom S Although the padwork is limited. They are very particular about the basic technique and especially footwork which I think is very crucial. Your technique will be corrected once they spotted something wrong, unlike other gyms.. Below is one of the video I took...

@Blake. Thanks mate. Any Facebook or way of contacting them?

um. I did have the owners number but I don't know what ive done with it.
