Whatīs With Fighting Spirit?
Is it still opened?
Someone said something about changing managers, getting sold or something.
Any recent info?
Didn't it change owner a few times?
The previous owner ( big tatted up guy) looked like a cool person
Yeah, thatīs what I heard, the big tatooed nice guy sold it or something.
Someone might have heard something or been there lately.
his name is dan lyons...i think he tried to sell it a while back? he has a fb pge and think he is still there?
Some priest came in and performed an exorcism and now all the spirits have left.
He used to be on here also.
On the facebook page they still have the videos of the big tattood bald dude, he was a gentle giant think he's still there i'm going to pop in when I go in November.
i remember seeing a video of him walking around filming the riots in BKK a few years ago
On his Facebook he said he's looking for business partners to open an additional two gyms, nothing about selling it though.
so to become his busness partner with another Thai partner...seems risky
doesn't say anything about a Thai partner either, just someone with money I guess.
This is what the status says
"Throwing this out there to see if any interest......
I am looking for a hands on business partner to grow the FSG training facility..
My hope is to have 3 gyms running. The current one situated in Silom. A second one in a disclosed location and then a very hard core training camp in a remote location.
With 4more we want to do some amazing training camps, bringing high level fighters to train under one roof for a period of time.
The locations have already been found so it's just a matter of moving in the direction to make this possible.
Contact me if you have any interest."
You cannot run a business without a Thai business partner...
well he already has that one gym, so he probably already has one. All he needs is a Thai to buy land right? Then he can build on it?
Can lease the land
then you have a land but that doesn't mean you can run a business on it...
Same Same many Farang
I went there for a day.
It wasnīt bad, I got my pads and some bag work too. The trainer also made me do some weight exercises and finished with some sparring.
It was clean, but quiet. Just two or three more guys training.
Strange, Iīve been this summer in 4 camps and they were/are empty. (Now in Luktupfah)
Whatīs going on? I know itīs low season, but I always come here this month and never seen anything like this.
Iīll probably start a new thread with this doubt.
Thailand is becoming expensive, other countires in recession and way to much gyms?
exactly Rambo. Although Thailand becamse expensive about 3-4 years ago, Phuket is as expensive to eat as Singapore is at times.
Bangkok was always a bargain but not so much anymore.
Vietnam is still cheaper than Thailand but no MT camps there.
And yes my goodnes many gyms indeed.
maybe Cambodia or even Myanmar is an option for training?
especially Cambodia is opening gyms to tourists...
i know Blake wants to go there
You heard of any specific gyms opening there Rambutan? I've looked into going there at times, but find it hard to track down gyms online (aside from Paddys of course)
no not really but I am sure you can find the info online...there are some webistes I remeber I wouldn't go to Paddy's after reading about it before.
About myanmar lLethwei you can find a docu online where you'll see a Westerner training there and "being part of it all".
Would love to go to Burma but am a bit scared of little armed midgets
Dan is one of the nicest people I've ever met. When I come back to Thailand I want to bring him a gift of some sorts. I still remember how nice he was with me, even though is been 4 years.
If you want to go to Cambodia go to the army camp in Phnom Penh, or contact Keo Rumchong he's top 5 in Cambodia and his gym allows foreigners.
There's only one or two authentic gyms online though. Paddys is meant to be shit.
I went to Fighting Spirit in March while I was in Bangkok to suss it out for training..When I arrived I only saw a couple of Thai dudes hanging around who I spoke briefly to in my elementary Thai..Luckily then a nice car approached and a young American guy and his attractive Thai missus jumped out and I spoke to him about training, prices etc. He gave me the impression he was the 'boss/manager" of the gym. The place was dead when I was there and I saw a couple of Pit bull dogs in cages off to the left of the gym when I walked up. I sort of got a strange feeling/vibe about the place so I never ended up going back for any training. Equipment and set up of the gym looked good though.
