Where To Train In The Evening In BKK
I'm going to work full time in Bkk (I will finish every day around 4.00 p.m.). Given the fact that most gyms kick off their afternoon session between 3:00 and 3:30 my plans to train muay Thai might become a bit difficult to realise...so my question is: how can I make it happen, and are there any gyms in or around Bangkok that start there afternoon training a bit later that I can take part. I know about Chakrit, tried it once and have to say that I don't like it. I'm yet to find any decent one...thanks for any suggestions.
The latest seems to be 4pm start, maybe you could just skip the run and then you'd be there on time?
But if not I would just do a drop in session, they tend to be about 300baht and it's convenient for you.
Maybe have a look at Fighting Spirit Gym, they don't have set training times, so you can just drop in and train whenever you like. I think it's under new ownership, so just check with them to make sure this is still the case
Yeah, Fighting Spirit or Vithawat. Both are just drop in places. Vithawat is SMALL though, and the wait to do pads can get pretty long sometimes.
Elite Boxing offers a class from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. incl. sauna and weight gym for 8000 baht per month
sometimes the head trainer gae, is a bit impatience, but he sees everything you`re doing wrongly... And he can push you to your limit, believe me...
I would have just said drop by any gym around 5pm and they'll hold pads for you. its money at the end of the day, they're not going to turn you away. Just let them know that you're going to be showing up around 5pm.
Jitti's might be a good one for this.
yeh I would imagine most gyms would sort something out if you ask them
Negotiate a private bulk PT type arrangement. You can run and warm up yourself, and do bags yourself, so it's really just 30 mins of pads with a trainer or sparring with one that you're after.
Where in Bangkok though? Fighting Spirit is in the heart of the city and laid back the afternoon session is technically 3-5 but it's mostly your own thing.
I Heard- of a great gym in BKK where you can pick sparring partners from a huge window
Just forgot the place
Thanks, so apparently it's as difficult as I thought. I'll live in Thawee wattana district, the place is called moo ban sedakid or so, is their any decent gym in range?
Its not that difficult mate you just have to have a personal instead of a group. They're only about 300/400 baht.
And look on muaythaicampsthailand.com and google, do some stuff for youself man.
Kiatphontip is in Thaweewattana, where abouts are you working?
i also vote for kiatphotip.
As a bonus rob cox will hold pads for you, he's top draw.
Top Rated / Yongyut Gym is between Thawee Wattana and Taling Chan
I`ve never been training there, but it`s on my to do list for my next time BKK
Think Top rated akiatyongyut is closed now, the owner has moved buisness to Phuket
Don't think Rob Cox holds pads for anyone though, he's a fat lazy bastard from what I've heard! :P
negotiating Rob ?
no mate! It's true
I do fancy Kiatphontip as I've already trained there occasionally when I was living in Nakhon Pathom. I'm gonna be working not far from Nong Kaem, it can take up to 40 min. to get to Salaya, but if Mr Cox does't mind holding pads after 5.00 p.m. I would appreciate it! :P
Haha you wouldn't want me holding them :P no problem to come then though!
