Which Camp ?
i leave in 11 days paww, cant wait anyway ive got sinbi muay Thai locked in and payed for for a month , however after that I have a few options I did intend on going to sitsongpeenong however I'm starting to think I want to go to sumalee ?? any advice on were I should head I will have a bike and be staying in the kamala area of phuket ?
Sumalee if you're asking me. Nothing wrong with sitsonpeenong. They have a good rep but I've just never been there. I just checked and it's in Surin.
I've been to Sumalee twice and have had great experiences on both occasions. It''s located away from any touristy areas and has this feel compared to my experienced in rawai, cherngtalay and patong. Like more serene and normal'ish. I've met some great friends there who also chose sumalee due to it's location at first and subsequently the atmosphere and training. Rozi Komlos is one person and she wrote a review recently here on MTL. She's train in Thai land before and I actually met her at the airport where we took the same ride in. She booked in a month at sumalee and was still deciding on the last 2 months on her visa and before I left (I only stayed there for 2 weeks), she had already booked in the last 2 months at sumalee! Other friends I made include the fighters. All of them are really nice and cool and it was thanks to them that I foudn out about this awesome issan bbq joint nearby! Tasty stuff.
learning wise ? whos goodto do 1 on1 pads with , generally I do the morning sessions then I do pads in the arvo / spar
Learning wise, it was very good. Typical of most other gyms. Two sessions a day: jog/run, 15 min skipping, stretching, shadow boxing, light sparring, 5 rounds of pads, bag work/clinching in that order. I added weights separately at the end of the day since there's a gym there.
I can't say any trainer was bad. My most recent visit revolved around pad work with a trainer that is no longer there and also Tuy. Tuy was good for me because we're both short haha. Very technical trainer, very patient and attention to minor detail but all the trainers are good. If you're taller (I think you are) then Jacky or Nat would be good for you. Then there's elbow king Nin. The other fighters also join in on the training. Was really cool working with Craig on some boxing work! Classes have never been big either which is good.
Happy to answer any more questions.
Sounds good I'm about 5,10 ! I thunk I will head Thier
If your staying in Kamala, Sitsongpeenong is on your doorstep
